Our 7 days Rwanda safari, will take you on an unforgettable journey through Rwanda’s major tourist destinations and hidden gems. While in this country, you will get to visit different national parks and do several activities such as Kayaking on Lake Kivu and passing through Kigali city where you will see different beautiful attractions. Additionally, you will visit different national parks such the volcanoes where you will trek the rare mountain gorillas, visit the Nyungwe national park where you will trek the chimpanzees and lastly you will also visit the Akagera national park where you will see several wildlife such as the lions, hippos, elephants, buffalos, giraffes and so many others.

Day 1: Arrival at the airport.
Day 2: Transfer from Kigali – Volcanoes National Park.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
Day 4: Transfer from Volcanoes national park to Akagera National Park.
Day 5: Transfer from Akagera national park to Nyungwe national park.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest National Park.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kigali. Departure.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at the airport.
Upon arrival, you will be met by our guide from Elgon navigators who will drive you to Kigali city for a short city tour. While in the city, you will get to see attractions such as the Kigali Convention centre, Kigali genocide memorial, Nyamata church to mention but a few. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and a relaxation as you wait for the next day.

Day 2: Transfer from Kigali – Volcanoes National Park.
Enjoy your morning breakfast and park up your luggage to embark on your journey Kigali city to first do a short city tour before driving to the volcanoes. You will see attractions such as the national museum, the presidential palace, artisan markets, and local culture, among other things. Enjoy your lunch and then embark on your journey to the Volcanoes where you can see endangered mountain gorillas. Arrive in the evening, check in, have dinner and an overnight sleep.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
Enjoy your morning tea, and get into your safari car to drive to the park headquarters where you will join your fellow trekkers to be briefed on the rules and regulations of trekking gorillas. From there, enter into the jungle and start the trekking. Once you come across these gorillas, you will be given ample time of over one hour to stay with these gorillas as you are having fun and taking photos. Drive to the lodge for lunch from there, you will decide to visit the Ibiwacu in the village and get to interact with them. From there, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight sleep.

Day 4: Transfer from Volcanoes national park to Akagera National Park.
Enjoy your morning tea and pack up your luggage to embark on your journey from the volcanoes national park to the Akagera national park arriving in the afternoon. Enjoy your lunch and Proceed to Lake Ihema for a relaxing boat ride along its banks, which are home to numerous populations of both aquatic and terrestrial animal species, including hippos, buffaloes, and Nile crocodiles. You will also have the chance to see the second-largest lake in Rwanda in addition to a wide variety of bird species that live among the swampy vegetation. Drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight sleep.

Day 5: Transfer from Akagera national park to Nyungwe national park.
Enjoy your morning tea and pack up your luggage to drive to the Akagera national park to do a morning game drive where you will see animals that you might not have seen previously. Among these animals include the hippos, lions, giraffes, zebras buffalos and so many others. Enjoy your lunch and then start off your journey to Nyungwe national park arriving in the evening. Check in, have dinner and an overnight sleep.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest National Park.
Enjoy your morning breakfast and enter into the safari car to drive to the park headquarters where you will meet your fellow trekkers for a briefing on the rules and regulations of trekking the chimpanzees. You will then enter into the jungle and start the trekking. Once you come across these chimpanzees, you will be given ample time to spend with these chimpanzees as you are having fun and taking photos. Drive to the lodge for lunch and then prepare for an evening walk to enjoy other primates like the Grey-cheeked mangabeys and Colobus monkeys while walking around the pathways while listening to the pleasant melodies of many bird species kept in the forest. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kigali. Departure.
