Best time to visit Uganda
The best time to visit Uganda is during the two dry seasons. The first dry season begins from June to August and then from December to February, commonly known for gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. It is in these periods when the trails in the parks are drier making it easy for tourists to access them.
Game drives are also well enjoyed during these times specifically from February to March. From October to early October, you will not miss seeing a large number of wildlife along the shore of lakes and rivers congregating for water thus quenching their thirst.
Visiting Uganda in January and February
January is a luxury season to go mountain gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking because it’s when the temperature gets quite hot. The sky clears up and there is minimal rain during that time, among other factors, which causes the species to relocate in search of better hiding places. February has relatively dry weather, making it possible to undertake gorilla trekking in several southern parks rather than embarking on a walk-through muddy circumstances.
Traveling to Uganda from March to May
March is believed to be the beginning of the wet season when animals in different destinations like national parks start giving birth to the beautiful youngsters at the same time while boosting the birding activity since some birds would have fled from their home countries looking for a cool temperature. Another interesting season is during May which has less rainfall compared to that in April thus making it good easy to move around the surrounding areas.
Visiting Uganda from June to August
June is another interesting time to visit Uganda and is well known as a month that starts with peak season. This month is better when it comes to booking gorilla trekking permits which should be booked in advance for better preparations.
July is also another beautiful month for gorilla trekking and other wildlife species. Here it is when the wildlife come together at the shore in search of water to quench their thirst thus making it easy for traveller spotting.
Visiting Uganda in August is a fascinating time when you are not able to view some animals like elephants and lions but advisable time to visit all other national parks in Uganda.
Visiting Uganda from September to December
September is normally termed as the end of the dry season but up to when the rain starts. Nevertheless, you may receive some raindrops from the sky meaning it is not a hundred percent best for gorilla trekking in the national parks but if find out that you can travel, then go ahead because choice matters a lot.
October, it’s in this month when prices are low accordingly and the destinations are not that busy. To people interested in gorilla trekking, this a special offer to you, and still the park trails are dry and thus accessible.
November, this month, the rain continues and the country starts to vibrate green due to the thunderstorms, and this leads to a decrease in the visiting population since the weather conditions are not favorable.
One of the best months to visit the Pearl of Uganda is December, which marks the end of the wet season and the beginning of the reduction in rain. Specifically, this month is ideal for trips to the north and south for activities like game viewing and birdwatching.
